![]() I boot off it and the USBs still are dead. I wouldn't even care, I have back ups, hell I could start from scratch np, but the live disc won't even work. Gonna check BIOS and see if that port may be off. My solution to this was to get a wired USB keyboard and use a P/S2 to USB adapter to get keyboard working but just tried and did not work. I have 2 500GB Western Digital SSDs one drive has Mint other has Win 10 圆4 I would love to run some commands in Linux for you but my USB ports stopped working so I can not do anything other than give rough details. How can USB work everywhere but Linux on the same hardware? Why does my keyboard and mouse work in BIOS? Why does my keyboard work in Grub? Why does my keyboard and mouse work in Windows? What could have happened to my Linux drive that would do this? If it really is hardware related explain how it works everywhere else? How will I be able to fix it without a keyboard? This is beyond infuriating. ![]() Oh I forgot, there was also no recent Windows updates either to bork my system, that has happened in the past and put me in maintenance mode but that is not the case this time. I can't even reinstall Linux from scratch. If I had a PS2 Keyboard I could try that but unfortunately I do not, only have wireless USB keyboards. I have removed all USB devices and plugged them back in after Linux boots in to maintenance mode and still dead. I have reloaded the BIOS to default settings USB still dead. Have Mint 20 on DVD and loads fine but USB is dead when the desktop loads. If I could use my keyboard in maintenance mode I wouldn't even be here this would be fixed already, but I can not use my USB keyboard in my Linux Mint 21.1 drive, I also can not use USB when I boot off a live disc. So why does my USB work in BIOS? In Grub? In Windows? ITS THE SAME HARDWARE SAME BOX! So no, IRC wannabe helpers, it is definitely not a hardware issue, maybe listen to what people are saying instead of repeating yourself saying over and over that "the enter key is not punctuation", like what does that even mean? How is that helpful for anyone? Sadly it can not be those issues because well it works everywhere else but my Linux drive. All they would say its a hardware issue or get a new motherboard battery. It definitely has gone down hill since last I used it, real shame. I tried going to the IRC help chat and it was not very helpful. All USB ports work in BIOS, Grub, and Windows but not when I boot Linux. Restart box and select Windows from Grub and windows loads just fine. Grub screen loads, hit enter and start Linux, all my USB ports die. ![]() Backup reloads and everything seems good to go. Woke up this morning and turned on PC and my BIOS said it was corrupted and was reloading a backup. ![]()
